If you go to just one museum on the South Shore, let it be the Black Loyalist Heritage Centre (J).Īfter Ballantyne’s Cove, the road starts to curve as it ascends up to Cape George Lighthouse (E). Just outside the latter is Birchtown, once home to the largest settlement of Black Loyalists (former slaves offered freedom by the British) in North America. In fact, you may even be overwhelmed by the number of beautiful white and golden sand stretches of sand!
